After a half year of posting hiatus, we are officially back with regular blog updates! The cool thing is that work on personly never stops so we are pleased to announce a bunch of new features and improvements to our product in order to make your online meetup experience on personly as smooth and fun as possible.
First and foremost was the introduction of categories for personals. These are the familiar Craigslist categories that we all know and love, except that now they are featured as a dedicated section on the splash page, enabling anyone to easily search through personals corresponding to the category that most interests them.
The chat view in personly has been revamped to work properly on mobile. This was an issue for ages as it was always tricky but in the end it works as one should expect, namely that on mobile, you are presented with your matches, and clicking a match takes one directly to the chat view. This was technically a more difficult change than expected however but we are happy to have pulled it off!
Stylistically speaking we have changed how personly is styled internally in order to increase not only the performance of the products but also the maintainability of the look and feel of our products. Specifically, the color scheme switch has been revamped as well, doing away with the dropdown in favour of clickable icons.
We are constantly looking to grow and expand our reach. Especially with the recent negative sentiment towards dating apps, we feel as though personly is perfectly positioned to rise and shine, bringing back a sense of both individuality and humanity to the online meetup experience that has been overshadowed by the matching apps.
